How to Fix Heat Damaged Hair in 3 Simple Steps

Are you looking for ways to fix your heat-damaged hair?

Between styling, drying, and coloring, it's no wonder that your hair looks frizzy, lifeless, dull, and dehydrated by the end of the day. Luckily, you don't have to live with heat-damaged hair. There are things you can do to turn your hair from dry and frizzy to healthy and luscious.

Read on to learn how to fix heat-damaged hair.

1. Let It Breathe

Laying off the straighteners, blow dryers, and curling irons is one of the best ways to fix heat-damaged hair. If you use these tools on a daily basis, it can be hard to imagine your hair routine without them.

However, there are plenty of trendy hairdos you can try that don't involve applying heat. If you're in a rush, you can throw your hair in a traditional braid or a ballerina bun. If you have some more time, you can try out a fishtail braid or french braids. Or, you can always tie it back into a loose ponytail.

If your hair takes a long time to dry, try showering the night before and wrapping your hair in a satin towel before going to bed. If you prefer to shower in the mornings, you can also use a microfiber towel to dry it out. All you need to do is pin your hair up in the towel and allow it to dry for 10 to 15 minutes as you go about your morning routine.

If you need to blow dry your hair because you're crunched on time, wait until your hair is damp instead of soaking wet. These tools for hairdressers can help you figure out what tools you should use on your heat-damaged hair.

2. Apply Oils

Certain oils can also help rid your hair of dryness and frizz. One of the best oils to apply to your hair is argan oil. Argan oil contains plenty of minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins that help soften and hydrate your hair.

Not only does argan oil protect your hair from heat, but it also protects it from UV damage and chemicals. Jojoba oil is also great for moisturizing dry hair, and you can find it at nearly any supermarket or drugstore.

3. Use a Heat Repair Mask

A heat repair mask can do wonders for dry hair. While you can purchase a heat repair mask from your favorite salon or local supermarket, you can also make your own.

All you need to make your own heat repair mask is a ripe banana and olive oil. Mash or blend the banana until it turns into a lump-free puree. Then, mix in the olive oil and continue blending.

Apply the mask to wet hair and massage it through your hair and scalp. Leave the mask in for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it out.

How to Fix Heat-Damaged Hair: Time to Turn Your Hair Around

Now that you know how to fix heat-damaged hair, it's time to put these tips to use. While fixing your hair won't happen overnight, slowly but surely, you'll notice a difference thanks to the above advice.
